The aim of the Sustainability Working Group is to promote sustainability in teaching, university operations and student groups, and to help shape a sustainable university. Sustainability encompasses environmental, social and economic sustainability. To this end, the Sustainability Working Group brings together the various institutions at the University of Hohenheim that are involved in sustainability. The Sustainability Working Group acts as an umbrella organisation to maximise its impact and to carry out larger projects that individual groups would be unable to manage on their own. This enables us to improve communication amongst ourselves, encourage the exchange of ideas and focus more effectively on specific topics. Another function of the Sustainability Working Group is to support student groups in sharing knowledge both internally and between groups. This helps to counterbalance the cyclical nature that student groups often exhibit due to the academic term structure and changing membership.
